OMG, I graduate next week!

July 08, 2016
Growing up is TERRIFYING, and in this post I talk about some of my next steps now that I'm graduating university.

For those of you who haven’t been around my blog much or haven’t clicked on my about page: I’ve spent the last three years studying for a BSc in Physics at Exeter University.

And I know uni isn’t for everybody, but honestly, I’ve loved it. I made some amazing friends, had some amazing times, and on Monday I’m graduating.

Terrifying, right?

I struggled with my studies more in second year, but found my feet again this last year. I’m thrilled to say that I’m graduating with a 2.2, and a College Commendation.
I know a lot of students will be coming out with 2.1s and Firsts, but honestly? I’m happy with my grades. I got 77% in my final lab work poster, and 72% in one final astrophysics exam. I’ve had two books published while studying, and attended multiple events and interviews. I put a lot on my plate. And I did it.

And, I have a grad job lined up, too! Which is a huge relief.

I’ll be working in assurance (which is basically like audit, but not necessarily in finance), and I have to do an accounting qualification too. It’s with a global company and I’ll be working in the Cardiff office, close to home. Which is also great.

It’s pretty terrifying to think that in just a couple of short months I’ll be out in the working world, and no longer a student.

(Also kind of terrifying to think I won’t be able to use student discount anymore *gasp*.)

But you know what? I feel ready for it.

Of course, I’m sad to think that it’s almost entirely over, and like I said, scary to think about being a full-on adult, but I feel ready to embrace all of that. Even, yes, the early mornings and the fact I can’t sleep in on any day of the week.

As for the summer before my job starts, I’m just going to enjoy it. I have a couple of holidays lined up (including Disneyland Paris with a mate for a couple of days!), and I’ll be in Exeter all of next week for my graduation ceremony and grad ball.

I’ve got a few writing projects I want to work on, and I’m doing a little more blogging again.
I won’t be giving up the writing entirely once I start working though.

I want to keep it up, and I love it too much. I might just be doing a little less of it.

BUT, I will make sure to keep up Writing Wednesdays, and hopefully another blog post each week (on a Monday).

And Betting Boy will continue to be updated on Wattpad for several months yet! So it’s not like I’ll disappear like I did the last year.

I guess we’ll just have to see what the future holds, right guys?
