Coming Soon - The Kissing Booth: Road Trip - a World Book Day special!
I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I am one of the authors for World Book Day 2020 – and that I’ll be publishing a new TKB story, The Kissing Booth: Road Trip, as part of it!
Hold up - what's World Book Day?
For those of you who don’t know, World Book Day is an annual event that celebrates all things bookish. According to their website: they're a 'charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own' and it's also a 'celebration of authors, illustrators, books... and reading'.
I have such fond memories of dress-up days in school where we came as our favourite literary character (or in my case, whichever one could be made most easily out of my existing wardrobe – I didn’t have a very crafty mum!). I’ve always loved seeing which authors are writing short stories for World Book Day, and remember many trips to Waterstones (or, at the time, Ottakers) in town with my nan to decide which book truly deserved my £1 off voucher for World Book Day.
And I'm going to be one of their authors for 2020!
When I got a call from my agent saying that my editor had put me forward, and that the team at World Book Day had chosen me as one of their authors for 2020, I was floored.
Those stands of books I see every year without fail? I was going to be on one of them? I was chosen to write a short story alongside the likes of authors from previous years like Rainbow Rowell, Juno Dawson, Rick Riordan and Marlorie Blackman?!
Other authors this year include Matt Haig, Chris Smith and Greg James, Robin Stevens, and Anthony Horowitz.

I was especially excited when my agent told me they’d like it to be book in The Kissing Booth series.
Which leads me on to the book itself…
The Kissing Booth: Road Trip follows Elle and Lee as they drive cross-country (armed with snacks, podcasts and spontaneity) to Boston, to spend a few days of their spring break with Noah.
It is only being published currently by World Book Day UK, but I’m hoping that we will sell rights in other territories and languages so that more of you will be able to read it! And I’m sure that when it is released, I’ll do a giveaway or two!
The book will be out on Thursday 5th March 2020 (ya know, on World Book Day!) and I cannot wait to share it with you all.
And, finally... THE GORGEOUS COVER!
Are you as excited as I am about this?! Take a look at the other World Book Day authors for 2020 right here, and mark your diaries for March 5th 2020!
